EUPHORBIA OBESA PLANT OVERVIEW
Euphorbia obesa is a slow-growing perennial succulent species from the Euphorbiaceae family, originating from South Africa. This frost-tender species is sometimes known as a Baseball Plant after its general spherical shape and lack of thorns. It is widely cultivated in botanical gardens and often coveted as a houseplant, but this species is endangered in the wild due to over-collection. The plant has 8 ridges and is often discretely striped or otherwise patterned with green, becoming more red-purple in colour with sun exposure. With age the overall shape becomes more cylindrical. Flowers are non-showy, green-yellow and produced at the top of the plant in a cluster.
